Corridor specification
by lines & municipalities

This corridor has four main railway lines, presented more in detail below:

  • line from Dravograd to Slovenj Gradec and Velenje to Celje;
  • line from Celje to Grobelno
  • line from Grobelno to Podčetrtek in Slovenia and further to Kumrovec and Harmica in Croatia; and
  • line from Stranje to Rogaška Slatina and Rogatec in Slovenia to Krapina in Croatia.

All four lines are single-tracks (with the exception of the line from Celje to Grobelno), line from Harmica to Kumrovec has abanoned the passenger traffic. Other lines are single track and non-electrified. 

Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) Inter-Regional/Comprehensive Network covers all European regions and is to be completed by 2050. 

European Union (EU) provides funding for railway infrastructure and railway terminals also through EU Cohesion Policy. Co-finance rates are up to 85 percent. Funding channelled through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cohesion Fund (CF).
