the Mura’s Bridge round-table
Hybrid round-table
Cross-border Mura’s Bridge as an enabler of the Mura-Drava-Rails network
May 14th, 2021;
8:00 – 15:00 (CET);
hybrid round-table.
The Mura’s Bridge round table has a very special mission. At the press conference at the end of the round table, we will solemnly hand over the Declaration on the Mura Bridge to the responsible ministers from Slovenia and Austria and to the European Commissioner for Transport and Mobility.
During the day of the round table, we will present both global and local views on transport, mobility, and, above all, sustainable development of cities and regions of the Mura and Drava rivers. In the central part of the round table, we will present the business starting points for the reconstruction and re-establishment, this time according to the general consensus of the multi-functional bridge over the Mura River.
If you also want us to re-establish once only a railway bridge over the Mura River, on the border between Slovenia and Austria, in Gornja Radgona and Bad Radkersburg, save the date: Friday, 14th of May 2021.
The round table will take place in a hybrid form, bilingually in Slovene and German, with simultaneous translation. Subsequently, all contributions of the round table will also be published with subtitles in English. More details coming soon.

Mobilitatis Omni
Mura’s Institute for infrastructure development, Murska Sobota
Mobilitatis Omni is an initiative that seeks to re-establish the Mura-Drava-Rails network, which already in 1924 had 440 railway kilometres. Today, only two missing links, one is the cross-border Mura Bridge on the border between Slovenia and Austria, make it impossible to re-establish this network.
Therefore, the founders, members, and partners of the institute solemnly signed the Mura’s Bridge Declaration in the Mura-Drava-Rails Network, which we keep signing until April 12th, 2021, until the 76th anniversary, when this bridge was mined at the end of World War II.
It is about time that we re-establish, this time by general consensus a multi-functional cross-border bridge. Support the community’s efforts of the institute and sign the Declaration as a full member of the institute.
Save the date to your calendar:
Mobilitiatis Omni (Mura’s institute for infrastructure development, Murska Sobota) is a civil initiative to link policies and economy with sustainable mobility for all, physical and mental health and sport through the re-opening of existing cross-border inter-regional railway connections with a simultaneous proposal to establish long-distance bicycling paths along these connections.
The MiRi initiative is for all of us who want frequent, environmental and health friendly cross-border inter-regional connections in the Pannonian area – to which many also refer as the European Amazon – for all of us . For all of us who come and go daily, weekly and occasionally, not only from the four neighbouring countries to and from the Mura and Drava regions, from Slovenia, Austria, Croatia and Hungary, but also for everyone from the regions of the whole of Central Europe. We invite you to support the initiative by joining today in the Bronze, Silver, Gold or VIP Club MiRi. The more of us there will be, the stronger we will be. Become a member today >

Let us restore the MDR-N!
Mura’s Bridge
SIA-M (Sustainable, Active and Inclusive Mobility) for all as a bridge to a low-carbon society. A regional, both rail and long-distance cycling hub as a bridge to connections throughout Central Europe. Inter-regional sustainable connections as a bridge to greater security.
Cultural heritage as a bridge to better understanding. Sports, especially volleyball and beach volleyball as a bridge of connections. Sustainable tourism as a bridge to regional development. And regional development as a bridge to the stability of the European Union. Historical milestones as a bridge of co-working.
Last but not least. Love locks on the bridge as universal symbols of love.
